| Summary | Your story bible: Characters, Locations, Objects, and Concepts. |
The Lorebook is your project’s lore bible: everything about your world, in one place, linked together. Open it from the nav rail (the books icon).
Each entry is a lore element, and each element has its own Lorebook sheet: a sheet with tabs and fields for its type. Lorebook sheets work alongside the Workspace sheets you write your story in.
The four element types
Section titled “The four element types”| Type | Use it for | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Characters | People and creatures with a role in the story | Your protagonist, a villain, a talking cat |
| Locations | Places, from rooms to realms | A tavern, a city, a continent |
| Objects | Things that matter | A cursed ring, a letter, a ship |
| Concepts | Everything else: ideas and systems | A magic system, a religion, a faction, a historical war |
Not sure where something goes? If it’s not a person, place, or thing, make it a Concept.
The left panel
Section titled “The left panel”- Elements are grouped by type. Click a group’s name to fold it.
- Click + next to a group to create an element of that type.
- Type in the search box to filter every group by name.
- Click an element to open its sheet. Right-click it to rename or delete it.
An element’s sheet
Section titled “An element’s sheet”Every sheet has the same top section:
- Portrait: a picture of the element. Hover over it to change it.
- Name, in large type. Click it to rename.
- Designation: the small line under the name, such as Protagonist, City, or Magic. Click it to choose or type one.
Below that, tabs split the sheet into sections. Each type has its own tabs, but they all follow the same pattern:
| Tab | What’s in it |
|---|---|
| Overview (first) | A one-line Snapshot, the “why it matters” fields, and a Relations Snapshot listing its connections |
| Middle tabs | The details for that type. Characters get Profile, Personality, and Background. Locations get Description, Atmosphere, History, and Society. Objects get Description, Function, and History. Concepts get Definition, Rules, History, and Impact. |
| Relations | Links to other elements. See Relations: Connect Your World. |
| Notes (last) | Free-form rich text, with the same Type Bar as the Workspace |
Fill in what helps and skip the rest. An empty field is fine. Many Concepts, for example, won’t need the Rules tab.
Every field saves as you type.
Use your lore while you write
Section titled “Use your lore while you write”- Link lore to a sheet: in the Workspace, open the Companion Panel → Inspector → Linked Elements → Link Element.
- Link text to an element: select text in a sheet → Link on the Type Bar → choose the element.
