Summary Move your projects to another computer without losing anything.

Cicero’s License Agreement lets you use Cicero on any computer you personally own or control. Moving means copying your project folders and installing Cicero on the new machine.

  1. Back up each project in Cicero. See Back Up a Project.
  2. Close Cicero.
  3. Copy the backups to an external drive or a cloud-synced folder. You can also copy the project folders themselves. They’re in Documents\Cicero Projects (macOS: Documents/Cicero Projects) unless you chose somewhere else.

Not sure where a project is? In the Project Hub, right-click its card → Edit → check Save Location.

  1. Install Cicero. See Install Cicero.
  2. Copy the project folders to a local location, such as Documents\Cicero Projects (macOS: Documents/Cicero Projects). If you copied backups, extract each .zip there first.
  3. Open Cicero → Project Hub → Open Project → Choose Folder… → select the project folder, the one that contains project.db. Repeat for each project.

See Open an Existing Project Folder.

Everything comes with the folder: sheets, lore, relations, comments, images, and project details.

App preferences live outside your project folders, so they reset on a new computer:

  • Light or dark mode
  • Zoom level
  • Default Projects Location
  • Backup reminder settings

Set them again in Settings.
